We’re excited to share that our vision for a circular construction industry and the role of material identity has been featured in the renowned online magazine KAP Forum. The article is part of the "ZIRKULÄRES BAUEN:BAUEN NEU DENKEN" series and is titled:
Building materials as resources – not waste
To treat buildings as material banks rather than waste sources, we need one essential thing: reliable, accessible information about each individual component.
That’s where CMID – Component & Material Identity comes in.
By capturing the unique surface structure of a material, we create a tamper-proof digital identity that can be read with a simple camera. This makes every building element traceable and reusable – from production to demolition and beyond.
What the article explores
The article highlights why existing labeling methods fall short, what challenges the reuse of materials faces, and how material identity can unlock a truly circular future for construction.
A big thank-you to the editorial team at KAP Forum for the opportunity to share our perspective!
